Oxidized Oak Serving Boards

from 89.00

These boards are so luxe. This blackest of black color is achieved by oxidizing: a chemical reaction that happens when ferrous oxide is placed in contact with wood and its tannins. Woods with a high tannic content, like oak, react best to this process, and I augment the reaction by first washing the wood in a traditional bark tea.

These boards provide striking contrast in a white kitchen, and have a sleek, contemporary look. They're a great size for cutting and serving a baguette, or a variety of meats and cheeses.*

Smaller board measures 20 x 7 1/2 x 5/8 inches.

Wider board measures 24 x 7 x 5/8 inches.

*These boards are finished with walnut oil as well as a naturally-derived seal coat to preserve the oxidized finish.
